Sildenafil Side Effects

Clinical trials results have proven that Sildenafil citrate causes mild to moderate side effects in most men. Thus, about 2.5% of all men, who were taking Sildenafil citrate during the trials, had to stop ED drug therapy because of severe side effects.

  • The most common Sildenafil citrate side effects are headache, dyspepsia or flushing.
  • Rarely, Sildenafil citrate side effects appear as nasal congestion, diarrhea or abnormal vision.
  • Some men, taking Sildenafil citrate are at high risk of urinary tract infection, dizziness or rash.
  • In single cases, Sildenafil citrate causes back pain, arthralgia, flu syndrome or respiratory tract infection.

Men, taking Sildenafil citrate must be aware that when increasing the daily dose of this drug, the risk of side effects increases as well.

Therefore, if minimal doses of Sildenafil citrate cause mild to moderate side effects, it is not recommended to increase Sildenafil citrate daily dose.

During post-marketing clinical trials, it was reported that men had some cardiovascular complications and hearing problems after using Sildenafil citrate.

However, there is no compelling evidence that these side effects were caused by Sildenafil citrate. Still, the occurrence of side effects requires immediate discontinuation of both Sildenafil citrate and any other prescription and non-prescription drugs.
